| Student Volunteer Opportunities for 20th World Petroleum Congress at Qatar Career Fair 2011 |
Doha, Qatar, 5th April 2011 – The 20th World Petroleum Congress (20WPC), taking place in December, Qatar, launches its volunteer recruitment programme at the 4th Qatar Career Fair (QCF) 2011 from 10th-14th April, 2011 at the Doha Exhibition Center. The 20WPC will be represented on the Qatar Petroleum stand.

First held in 2008, Qatar Career Fair is an important event in the Doha calendar, offering job, volunteer and training opportunities to National and Expatriate graduates and is expected to attract more than 30,000 visitors this year.
The World Petroleum Congress has a tradition of encouraging volunteer participation in its proceedings, as previous host countries have been proud of the legacy of providing opportunities for high school, college, and university students to gain from their participation in the congress volunteer programme.
The success of the volunteer involvement will rely on an effective recruitment and selection process, and the assignment of suitable roles. Volunteers will receive appropriate training and orientation which will enable them to carry out their roles effectively. The recruitment drive will commence at the QCF on 10th April 2011 and will continue until the end of August 2011.
The 20th World Petroleum Congress is hosted by Qatar Petroleum and will take place at the Qatar National Convention Centre (QNCC) in Doha, Qatar, from 4th -8th December 2011. Since its establishment in 1933, this is the first time that the World Petroleum Congress will be hosted in the Middle East.
Opening in 2011, QNCC will boast an iconic design and cutting edge facilities in a green technology venue. It is the first facility of its kind being built to the gold certification of the U.S. Green Building Council’s Leadership in Energy and Environment Design (LEED). |
